AllianceHealth Madill Receives Chest Pain Center Accreditation
11/9/2017
Madill, Okla. (November 9, 2017) – The American College of Cardiology has recognized AllianceHealth Madill for its demonstrated expertise and commitment in treating patients with chest pain. AllianceHealth Madill was awarded Chest Pain Center Accreditation in October based on rigorous onsite evaluation of the staff’s ability to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients who may be experiencing a heart attack.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 730,000 Americans suffer a heart attack each year. The most common symptom of a heart attack for both men and women is chest pain or discomfort. However, women are more likely to have atypical symptoms. Other heart attack symptoms include, but are not limited to, tingling or discomfort in one or both arms, back, shoulder, neck or jaw, shortness of breath, cold sweat, unusual tiredness, heartburn-like feeling, nausea or vomiting, sudden dizziness and fainting.
Hospitals that have earned ACC Chest Pain Center Accreditation have proven exceptional competency in treating patients with heart attack symptoms. They have streamlined their systems from admission to evaluation to diagnosis and treatment all the way through to appropriate post-discharge care, recommendations and assistance in patient lifestyle changes. The Accredited Chest Pain Center at AllianceHealth Madill has demonstrated its expertise and commitment to quality patient care by meeting or exceeding a wide set of stringent criteria and undergoing an onsite review by a team of SPCP’s accreditation review specialists.
“Chest Pain Accreditation recognizes the collaborative commitment between our physicians, community first responders and hospital staff to provide cardiac care that meets nationally recognized standards”, stated Minnie Burkhardt, AllianceHealth Madill CEO. “Our team has worked hard to streamline our processes to make sure that we are providing appropriate treatment for patients as quickly as possible.”
AllianceHealth Madill is now an accredited hospital equipped to provide strong prevention, treatment and recovery programs for the complicated needs of patients with life-threatening heart conditions for Marshall county.
