Marshall County, Oklahoma is located in south central Oklahoma cradled in “the arms of Lake Texoma” along our southern border. We are the smallest county in Oklahoma with a population of 16,393.
We are two hours from both Dallas/Ft. Worth and Oklahoma City with Durant, OK, 30 miles to the east and Ardmore, OK, 30 miles to the west. Combined, these industries generate over 1000 jobs in our county.
Our economic health is also supported by the tourism industry which equates to approximately seven millions visits a year to the Lake Texoma area. Lake Texoma affords every kind of water entertainment, at every level, to anyone who loves a lake community: year round fishing and boating, water skiing, wake boarding, beautiful resorts, marinas and fully outfitted camping grounds. Also included in visits to Marshall County are hunters, sightseers, business pursuits and golfers; Chickasaw Pointe Golf Club overlooks Lake Texoma and the Roosevelt Bridge to the east and Buncombe Creek Golf Club is conveniently located on the west side in a beautiful country setting. We are the home of the National Sand Bass Festival that brings 15,000 to our county every June and, typically, Kingston, OK, hosts the National Striper Festival. Lake Texoma is one of the greatest striper fishing lakes in the world!
Our airports, located in Kingston and Madill, provide easy access to our tourism attractions and businesses.
There are several Chickasaw Gaming Centers in our county and we are in close proximity to the Choctaw Casino in Durant, OK, and Winstar Casino, of the Chickasaw Nation, in Thackerville, OK. Both are fully complimented casinos with gaming and entertainment including concerts featuring named entertainment; Las Vegas caliber.
